Pulse Source Meter PSM10-300

Custom design device developed for EPCOS (SELK d.d.).
PSM10-300 is Pulsed Source mode Meter Instrument that combines a 3kW pulse power with programmable current source and measurement capability for production testing of devices like multi-layer varistors, protection diodes and other transient suppression devices.
DESCRIPTION OF PSM10-300 DEVICE
PSM10-300 is instrument for measuring and testing of clamp voltage on transient suppression components, suitable for use on automatic lines for component packing or sorting. The concept of the instrument we offer is very modern made from state of the art components. Apart from the new generation of fast D/A converters and analogue amplifiers, this device have RISK managing processor which offers a range of new measuring possibilities. This is resulting in a much smaller deviation of measurement and higher accuracy.
This instrument offers several possibilities for communication with the outside world. A standard serial port RS-232C is used for setting parameters, measurement, calibrating the device and determining the function of PLC input or output, etc. This enables interactive data sending towards the host during the measurement. As an option PSM10-300 have RS-485 or RS-422 protocols. On customers demand we can offer GPIB parallel instrumental communication port as well.
Device calibrating can be conducted exclusively via serial port. Analog part of the device does not contain trimmer potentiometer for adjustment, but they are carried out through digitally controlled trimmer potentiometers. All the calibration elements are stored in the flash memory of the instrument.
PSM10-300 measuring instrument also have a PLC inputs for starting the measuring process, interlock input for outside safety circle, and two additional event trigger inputs. Apart from the above mentioned, the device is also equipped with eight PLC (NPN open collector) outputs, with maximum current of 0,5 A, for process communication with the instrument for sorting or packing components. It is possible to configure these outputs in such a way that they control sorting components based on the criteria of measured absolute component voltage or percentage tolerance range.
The instrument we offer is fully software-controlled and adjustable to each specific user request. The described concept is generic, so that it allows for subsequent upgrading of individual functions within the frame of the basic purpose of the device.
PSM10-300 have possibility of multiple measurement of clam voltage in precisely set intervals, and subsequently calculating the mean value, minimum and maximum value, or any other value. Number of measuring impulses, as well as the intervals between them could be programmed in wide limits. It is also possible to determine the length of each particular test impulse.
Our measuring instrument PSM10-300 could be equipped with additional multiplexer of test signal that would enable multi-channel measurement of array components. The multiplexer can be controlled by output PLC signals. Such device concept is resulting in a much cheaper system of measurement, if the available measurement time allows for that.
These are only some of the possibilities of this instrument, and a detailed request can be worked out accordingly to the customer wishes.
